Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during a Parent Consultation?

A Parent Consultation is a 30-minute virtual session to discuss your concerns and gain insight into your child’s needs. Before we meet, you’ll receive a brief questionnaire that must be completed prior to your consultation. This allows me to learn more about your child, current concerns, and goals so we can make the most of our time together. During the consultation, we’ll identify areas for support and discuss practical strategies, personalized recommendations, and next steps for your family.

How do I know if my child may benefit from therapy?

Sometimes you just notice that something feels harder than it should—more anxiety, bigger emotions, school or friendship stress, withdrawal, or tension at home. Therapy can help, but your child or teen also needs some willingness to participate. The most important piece is that your child or teen feels comfortable with their therapist and is open to the process.

What can I expect during ongoing therapy?

The first session focuses on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and identifying goals for therapy. Future sessions are tailored to your individual needs and may focus on anxiety, emotional regulation, coping skills, self-esteem, relationships, school or life stress, and life transitions. For teen clients, parent involvement may be incorporated when appropriate while also respecting the therapeutic relationship.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance-based therapy may be available through Headway and Grow Therapy for clients with participating plans. Coverage and eligibility vary, so please visit my Headway or Grow Therapy profile for the most current information.

What ages do you work with?

I currently provide virtual therapy for teens and young adults, as well as parent consultations and support. In-person play therapy for children ages 5–12 is not currently being offered but may be available in the future.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Therapy sessions and parent consultations are currently offered virtually to clients throughout Florida. In-person therapy is not currently available.

What is play therapy?

Play therapy allows children to express thoughts and emotions through play in a developmentally appropriate way. Through the therapeutic relationship, children can build emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence.

How involved are parents in teen therapy?

Parent involvement varies based on the teen’s age, needs, and treatment goals. Parents may be included through consultations, updates, and collaboration when appropriate, while maintaining a supportive and confidential space for the teen.

Do you offer therapy packages?

Yes. Individual therapy and parent consultation packages are available for clients who prefer ongoing support at a reduced per-session rate. Package options and pricing can be found on the Services page.
